What do you want for Christmas? - Dec 20, 2007

It seems such a simple question really. But every year people ask it, not thinking through what they are asking.

"Christmas gift suggestions:
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect."
- Oren Arnold

I am slightly OCD, so when someone asks me what I want, I feel compelled to list everything, and being that I am really not that hard to buy for, there are 100s if not 1000s of suitable gifts. Even listing just the low priced items makes for an extensive list.

Besides, just buy me something, if it is well thought out, I will like it. This year I only purchased a single gift card, and it was done purposely, everyone else is getting gifts that were purchased specifically for them with their wants and needs in mind, if you are buying a gift for someone, at least make the effort to know the person well enough to get something they want or need.

I wish everyone a VERY merry Christmas, but do remember to put aside a little time to remember Christmas is not about the presents we exchange, but the gift that we were given on a cross.
