Who is God?

Perhaps the Jews are right, and God is a petty, violent creator who breaks his word, or the Christians are right and God is not perfect and needs to go back and correct his work later on because he made us too flawed, or the muslims are right and he is petty and violent, wait that sounds familiar, doubt the Buddhists are right, they say there is no God. Maybe the universe itself is God. What if God is so utterly beyond human comprehension that any description in words is a pathetic joke?

More and more I am drawn to the fact that, to me, the bible feels "wrong", not that there is no God, far from it, it simply reads like a poorly put together piece of propaganda, this is not to say the Quran is any better, or any other religious text is better, all were written by men, with objectives in the writing, to strengthen and increase their powerbase.

There are core truths in each of these texts, filtering between them and the excess is a bit difficult though, you have to read with an open mind and your heart focused on God to hear the message, there is a God, but he is not what those books say he is, and anyone who follows those texts literally is simply dooming themselves.

"But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee." - Job 12:7-9

Is God sadistic?

Interesting topic, why are people born with mental problems that make them desire to hurt people, or kill people, sure there is freedom of choice, but what choice does a psychotic have?

What about people who find their soulmate and they are already married, or perhaps find their soulmate only to have the die in an accident the next day?

We hear about events like this all the time, perhaps we know someone who for sheer chance is in pain and unable to correct it.

Sure seems like he might be, I pray he is not and in time I uinderstand why there is so much pain in the world. And yes this seems odd comming from a sadist...
